The 231-hp Santa Fe Hybrid is offered on the SE, SEL, Limited and Calligraphy, from $36,650 to $50,750. The Limited is the best luxury buy, and the Calligraphy adds quilted Nappa leather, power second-row captain's chairs, a head-up display and Highway Driving Assist 2 for $3,000 more. Here is what every trim adds and which one fits drivers in Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island and across New York City.

Model year: This guide covers the 2027 Santa Fe, the model Plaza Hyundai has in stock now. It carries over the design introduced for 2024; for 2027 Hyundai dropped fingerprint recognition, Digital Key now starts at the XRT (Limited on the hybrid), and the price list no longer includes an SEL Convenience (2027 changes). IIHS named the 2026 Santa Fe a Top Safety Pick+, and IIHS says its crash-test ratings apply to 2025–2027 models built after November 2024. Prices are Hyundai MSRPs before the $1,650 destination charge. AWD adds $1,800 to any gas or hybrid trim. SE vs SEL: What Does $2,540 Add?

The SEL ($37,840) is the trim most Santa Fe buyers should start with. Over the SE ($35,300) it adds H-Tex synthetic leather, heated front seats, a power driver's seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger and roof rails. The SE keeps cloth seats and manual front-seat adjustment, but it already has the 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a hands-free liftgate, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Following Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist and Safe Exit Assist.

SEL vs Limited: Is the $7,010 Jump Worth It?

The gap between the SEL and the Limited ($44,850) is the biggest in the lineup, and the Limited fills it. It adds leather seats, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, driver's seat memory, a power passenger seat, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12-speaker Bose audio, Surround View and Blind-Spot View Monitor, Remote Smart Parking Assist, Highway Driving Assist, a dual-pane sunroof and 20-inch wheels. It is also the only trim that lets you choose second-row captain's chairs (six seats) or a bench (seven) at the same price.

Santa Fe Limited vs Calligraphy: Which Should You Buy?

Choose the Limited unless second-row comfort is a priority. The Calligraphy costs $3,000 more ($47,850 against $44,850 with FWD, and the same gap on the hybrid) and adds quilted Nappa leather, a microfiber headliner, power-adjustable and power-folding second-row captain's chairs, a head-up display, Highway Driving Assist 2 with lane-change assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (Calligraphy only for 2027) and 21-inch wheels on the gas model. It seats six only, so families who need seven seats should stay with the Limited bench.

Is the Calligraphy Hybrid different?

The Calligraphy Hybrid ($48,950 FWD, $50,750 AWD) has the same equipment but rides on 20-inch wheels instead of 21s, which is easier on New York potholes, and it is rated 35 to 36 mpg combined against 23 to 24 for the gas Calligraphy.

What Is the Santa Fe XRT?

The XRT ($42,290) is the outdoors Santa Fe, sold only with the gas engine and HTRAC AWD. It rides 8.3 inches off the ground against 7.0 for other trims, wears black 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires and adds a sunroof, navigation, dual wireless charging pads, a 115-volt outlet, Highway Driving Assist and Digital Key 2. It tows 4,500 pounds, 1,000 more than other gas trims. It costs $2,650 more than an SEL AWD but skips the Limited's leather, ventilated seats and Bose audio, and its 21 mpg combined is the lowest in the lineup.

Santa Fe Hybrid Trims: Is the Hybrid Worth $1,100 More?

For most New York drivers, yes. The SEL, Limited and Calligraphy hybrids cost $1,100 more than the matching gas trim, and the SE Hybrid $1,350 more, which also buys dual-zone climate control. The trade-offs are 46 fewer horsepower (231 against 277) and a 2,000-pound tow rating against 3,500, and there is no hybrid XRT.

Estimated annual fuel use at 12,000 miles a year and $4.40 a gallon, based on EPA combined ratings. AAA put the New York metro average for regular at $4.41 on October 28, 2026.
VersionGallons a yearCost a year
Gas FWD (24 mpg)500$2,200
Gas AWD (23 mpg)522$2,296
XRT (21 mpg)571$2,514
Hybrid FWD (36 mpg)333$1,467
Hybrid AWD (35 mpg)343$1,509

With AWD, the hybrid saves about $787 a year, so it pays back its $1,100 premium in under a year and a half.

Santa Fe vs Santa Fe Sport: What's the Difference?

The Santa Fe Sport was the two-row, five-seat version of the Santa Fe sold from the 2013 to 2018 model years, with a 2.4-liter four or a 2.0-liter turbo; the larger three-row model was called the Santa Fe and, for 2019, the Santa Fe XL. In 2019 the two-row SUV took over the Santa Fe name and the Sport badge was retired. Today's Santa Fe, redesigned for 2024, is a boxier three-row SUV with seven seats as standard, so if you are cross-shopping a used Santa Fe Sport, the new model is a size class up.
