Hyundai's Ioniq EV trim levels run from the $35,250 Ioniq 5 SE Standard Range to the $76,490 Ioniq 9 Performance Calligraphy Design. The 2027 Ioniq 5 comes in SE, SEL, XRT and Limited trims with up to 318 miles of range; the 2026 Ioniq 9 three-row SUV comes in S, SE, SEL, Performance Limited, Performance Calligraphy and Performance Calligraphy Design with up to 335 miles; and the Ioniq 5 N is the 641-hp performance model. The regular Ioniq 6 sedan left Hyundai's US lineup after the 2025 model year, and only the 641-hp Ioniq 6 N continues. Here is what each trim adds and which one is the best value for drivers in Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island and across New York City.

Quick Verdict

Which Ioniq Trim Should You Buy?

  • Best value: Ioniq 5 SE RWD ($37,750). The full 84-kWh battery, 318 miles of range and a NACS port for Tesla Superchargers for $2,500 more than the Standard Range. It is under the $42,000 cap for New York's full $2,000 Drive Clean Rebate, if it is on NYSERDA's eligible list.
  • Best all-rounder: Ioniq 5 SEL AWD ($43,700). 320 hp, 290 miles, blind-spot collision-avoidance and a hands-free liftgate. It is priced over the $42,000 cap, so it qualifies for the $500 rebate, not $2,000; the SEL RWD ($40,200) keeps the full amount.
  • Best for families: Ioniq 9 SEL ($66,320). Seven seats, AWD, 320 miles, ventilated front seats and Surround View Monitor; the best value with three rows.
  • Best to drive: Ioniq 5 N ($59,900). 641 hp with N Grin Boost and simulated gear shifts.

Model-year timing: This guide covers the 2027 Ioniq 5, the 2026 Ioniq 5 N and the 2026 Ioniq 9, the latest models with published U.S. pricing, plus the 2025 Ioniq 6. Hyundai has published 2027 Ioniq 9 specifications but not pricing. Prices are manufacturer MSRPs before the $1,650 destination charge. The federal EV tax credit ended for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025; New York's Drive Clean Rebate takes up to $2,000 off eligible new EVs priced under $42,000 at the dealer and $500 off pricier ones. What's the Difference Between the Ioniq 5 SE and SEL?

The SEL adds H-Tex synthetic leather seats, an eight-way power passenger seat, power lumbar, a hands-free power liftgate, an auto-dimming mirror and blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, for $2,450 ($40,200 against $37,750 with RWD). Both use the same 84-kWh battery and get the same 318 miles with RWD or 290 with AWD, so the SEL is the comfort and safety upgrade, not a range one.

Is the Ioniq 5 Limited or XRT Worth It Over the SEL?

The Limited is worth it if you want every comfort feature: for $5,025 over the SEL RWD it adds Bose audio, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, Surround View and Blind-Spot View Monitor and Highway Driving Assist 2. The XRT ($46,525, AWD only) trades the luxury for a rugged look, a raised 7.0-inch ground clearance and an available 2,700-pound tow rating, but it has the shortest long-range figure at 259 miles.

Which Ioniq 5 Trim Has the Most Range?

The SE, SEL and Limited with RWD, at an EPA-estimated 318 miles. AWD costs 28 miles on the SE and SEL (290) and 49 on the Limited (269), the XRT is rated 259 and the SE Standard Range 245.

Is the Ioniq 5 N Worth It?

Only if driving is the point. The 2026 Ioniq 5 N ($59,900 after a $6,300 price cut) makes 601 hp, or 641 hp with N Grin Boost, from an 84-kWh battery, with simulated gear shifts, a drift mode and track-ready brakes; its EPA range is 221 miles (electrive). For daily driving, the Ioniq 5 Limited AWD at $49,125 is quick enough: a dual-motor Ioniq 5 Limited ran 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds at the Edmunds test track (Edmunds 2027 Ioniq 5 review), and it goes 48 miles farther on a charge.

2025 Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 6 N Trims: What Happened to the Ioniq 6?

Hyundai dropped the regular Ioniq 6 sedan from its US lineup after the 2025 model year; only the high-performance Ioniq 6 N continues, in limited numbers (Cars.com). There are no new Ioniq 6 sedans to order, but 2025 models are on the used market, so here is how the trims compare.

The SEL ($45,600) adds 20-inch wheels and more comfort features, but the bigger wheels cut range to 291 miles. The Ioniq 6 N is the sedan sibling of the Ioniq 5 N, with the same 641-hp peak output in a lower, more aerodynamic body; Hyundai has not yet published U.S. pricing or an EPA range. Which Ioniq 9 Trim Should You Buy?

The Ioniq 9 SEL ($66,320) is the sweet spot: it keeps seven seats and 320 miles of range and adds the ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel and 360-degree camera that matter on a big SUV in the city. The SE ($62,765) is the value AWD pick, and the S ($58,955) has the most range at 335 miles but tows only 3,500 pounds. The Performance Limited ($71,250) switches to 422 hp and six seats with power-ventilated captain's chairs; the Calligraphy ($74,990) adds a head-up display, heated third-row seats and remote smart parking for $3,740 more. The Calligraphy Design adds only wheels and matte-paint availability for $1,500. The 2026 Ioniq 9 earned an IIHS 2026 Top Safety Pick+.

Standard vs Long Range, RWD vs AWD: Which Do You Need?

On the Ioniq 5, skip the Standard Range unless price is everything: $2,500 more buys the 84-kWh battery, 57 more hp and 73 more miles (318 against 245). AWD adds $3,500 on the SE and SEL, brings 320 hp and costs 28 miles of range; it is worth it if you park outside through New York winters. On the Ioniq 9, the AWD SE costs $3,810 more than the RWD S, adds 88 hp and 1,500 pounds of towing, and gives up 15 miles.
